Using Afrofuturism principles to keep, grow Black culture in Seattle’s Central District (Link to audio on KNXX)
Our lead designer, respected Seattle architect Donald King went on NPR’s All Things Considered today to discuss the Acer project, Afro-futurism, and why it’s important to him personally.
Donald is not just a part of the Acer team, he’s also a long-time resident of the Central Area. Hearing Donald speak about the way that gentrificaiton and displacement has personally affected him and his community is incredibly inspiring and re-inforces our desire for this project to be a positive force in a neighborhood that has gone through tremendous change.
